European Android Users Set Sail with Top Pirate Games in Q1 2021

The first quarter of 2021 saw a fleet of pirate-themed games vying for the attention of European Android users. Data from Sensor Tower reveals the performance of the top five pirate games during this period.

Pirates of the Caribbean: ToW, published by JOYCITY Corp., saw a fluctuating revenue trend with peaks reaching around $180K. Downloads spiked in January with close to 60K but gradually declined to around 22K by the end of March. Weekly active users peaked at approximately 119K in late January but followed a downward trend, finishing the quarter near 83K.

Pirate Kings™️ by Playtika also experienced variable revenue, with a high of nearly $60K in mid-January. The game's downloads showed an unpredictable pattern, with a remarkable surge to 2.8K in late March. The weekly active users count for Pirate Kings™️ decreased over the quarter, starting at around 45K and dipping to approximately 33K.

TAPCLAP's Pirate Treasures: Jewel & Gems maintained a steady revenue stream, with a slight dip to around $34K at the quarter's end. The game's downloads saw a sharp decline from 40K at the beginning of January to 21K by March's close. Active user numbers showed a gradual decrease from over 500K to just over 400K.

Mutiny: Pirate Survival RPG, developed by Helio Games, had modest revenue figures, peaking at about $10K in early January. Downloads remained relatively stable, with a slight drop from 13K in late December to 6.8K in late March. The weekly active users exhibited a downward trend, starting at roughly 18K and ending the quarter at 9.4K.

Lastly, Special Gamez's Age of Sail: Navy & Pirates showed the most modest performance, with revenues peaking at just above $4K. Downloads were low, with a surprising jump to 2.7K in early February but otherwise negligible numbers. Active users for the game saw a slight decline from 9.3K to 7.7K throughout the quarter.
